John Lewis was from Knoxville Tenn, home of the "Dempsey Dumpster" and he was very proud that it had been invented there. Chuck Lowrey was an "old sea dog" having prior service in the U.S Coast Guard. Ken Spranza is sporting a barely regulation moustache that irritated the staff because they couldn't find a command regulation prohibiting it.In August of 1969 most of these guys huddled around a single 12inch black and white television in barracks 522 to watch the first lunar landing. I'm told Jerry Bigelow went on to be an LDO.
